Memories of the Moment

Kreh Mellick‘s work relates fictions inspired by folklore, nostalgia, illustration and daily habits. She works primarily with gouache on paper, often cut and layered in reassembled environments. She combines complex, decorative patterns with airy, minimalist, ethereal landscapes.


Ellen Fullman - Elemental View

Elemental View is a work for The Long String Instrument, retuned steel guitar and santur, performed by Ellen Fullman with The Living Earth Show commissioned by the Gerbode Foundation Special Awards in the Arts program. It was conceived of as a film, shot on location at the Headlands Center for the Arts in the Marin Headlands during the pandemic when live performance was shut down. Fullman took this opportunity to realize a life-time vision of orchestrating a piece in an expanded installation of 134 strings.

The Camp fire wiped out the town, killed at least 85 people, and scorched 150,000 acres. But in the face of a dark new reality, shellshocked residents are displaying resilience.
